C'mon C'mon

Don't forget, the season premiere of "Rescue Me" is tonight at 10pm on F/X.

And if you need another reminder, you can get that in this SFist post!

Hey, Where Did My Three-Day-Weekend Go?

Sunset 2

At about 7:30pm last night, I was sitting at home, watching yet another episode of "The Dog Whisperer," (key take-away from that show: If you have a dog--WALK IT!) and feeling kind of sad about the weekend coming to a close, and my not even steeping into any real nature the whole time. Sunset was approaching, and I got the sudden urge to go to the beach and watch it. So, through the wonder of Zipcar, I reserved a Mini convertible for two hours and by 7:45 I was on my way to the beach. Woo!

Of course, since this was a spontaneous decision, I didn't really plan on it being FRACKING FREEZING. No gloves, no hat. Just a thin hoodie and some yoga pants. Whoops! But after a brisk 15 minute walk down the beach, I hardly noticed it. And while in the car, the heated seats in the convertible allowed for some comfortable top down driving. In all, a nice ending to what was a kind of depressing weekend.

I'm So Happy I Could Cry

One of my favorite movies is finally coming to DVD! "Petulia" comes out on June 20th.

No extras that I can see, which is sad, but I'm still pretty happy about it.

Lights and Dolls and Birds and Boats and and and

I went to Disneyland recently, and have the video to prove it!

Speaking of Lost

Heather Havrilesky has an awesome assessment of the season finale over on Salon. (But DO NOT read it if you haven't seen the finale yet.)

And for a completely opposite take on "Lost" check out Michelle Heller's take on TV Guide. Heller is a former coworker of mine, who has apparently landed my dream job, writing for "TV Guide, " (and I am NOT ONE BIT JEALOUS!), but I could not disagree with her more on the matter of "Lost."

Clear as Mud

I was hoping this diagram of how the characters on "Lost" are connected would clear some things up for me, but then I realized I was never very good at reading charts. Doh!

Maybe Now She Can Buy a Cah

There hasn't been much to talk about on "Starting Over" recently. Not a lot of crazy, which has been disappointing. However, the life coaches continue to act crazy themselves, as can be illustrated with their decision to graduate Antonia after what seemed to be about a week in the house. Her goal was to get out of debt. She got into debt (over $40,000.00 worth) because she's selfish, immature, and unwilling to deal with any of the issues that would explain her need to constantly buy above her means.

She's graduating because she called some of her creditors.

She's still selfish, immature, and dealing with some tremendous daddy issues. To top it off, her parting gifts were a bunch of money and some free furniture. Her issue was spending more than she had. GIVING stuff to her, without forcing her to earn it, seems a truly boneheaded move.

It seems "SO" is reaching the end of the season, which is the point where they quickly graduate all of the women in the house because they've got to get ready for summer break. Doesn't matter if they deserve to graduate or not, though.

But who cares. Antonia got a graduation make-over, had her eyebrows done, which is the true right of passage for any "Starting Over" crazy.

Monday, Monday

Another week already?

So, I was going to write an explanation for my absence, but I kind of already did that somewhere else. So, if you're wondering what's been up, I suggest you read about it here. I can't really bring myself to write much more about it right now...

Slowly Returning to Regular Programming

I'm slowly coming back to the blogosphere, as is evidenced by a new SFist post, available now!

We Interrupt Our Regularly Scheduled Programming...

Musty TV will be taking a break this week as I have much more important matters to deal with. (Yes, there are some things more important than TV.)

For those of you who know, please know that I appreciate the kind words you have sent along.

For those of you who don't know, I'll explain it all at a later date...

It's Fun To Have a Orgasm

A friend in New York caught some pretty good ranting on the subway :

The audio's pretty bad, so if you want to read some transcripts, you can go to the actual Vimeo page.

Trix Are For Kids...And Adults With Some Kind of Mysterious Stomach Flu

I've been sick for the past week with some mystery ailment that won't allow me to eat anything but cereal. (I don't know.) Everything else just kinda....passes through, without even a thank you note for my hospitality.

Today the diet of cereal has kind of caught up to me, and I am dead tired, with a nasty headache. I've also had a few feverish dreams, wherein I come to the realization that I will have to eat cereal, and only cereal, for the rest of my life. I suppose there could be worse dietary curses, but as much as I do love me some cereal, having it for breakfast lunch and dinner just ain't cutting it.

Also, have you ever seen what happens to a Cheerio if you leave it out of its box for a day? It shrinks down to a half its size, turns brown, and is hard as a rock.

What the HELL causes that???

Holy Shitsu!

Just watched "Lost."

My hand is still covering my mouth in shock, so I can't write very well.

Just....golly.

And in case you missed it: 1-877-HANSORG. Haven't been able to get through tonight, though.

Nnenna Nnenna, Hey Ay Yay, Good-Bye

I didn't get a chance to talk about last week's "America's Next Top Model" weekly conference call with the loser, in this case, Nnenna. Probably because I only heard half of the call--I attempted to listen to the other half via speaker phone, and it just wasn't cutting it. She talked about her stupid boyfriend, who it sounds like she's still seeing, and how the show's editors made it look like she was talking to him on the phone every day, when she says she only talked to him twice. Hmmm.

Right now I'm watching this week's episode and have come to the conclusion that this has been the worst season so far. They keep eliminating the pretty girls, and now all they have left are two ugly girls, two totally bland girls, and one so-so girl. I'll let you guess who I think is who.

New!

"Lost" is NOT a rerun tonight, and there are only four more episodes left in the season. Wow.

At some point I'm hoping to explore the hell out of The Hanso Foundation site, and I recommend you do the same.
