Hotty Hotty Pants

It was so sad going from the thrill of last week's Amazing Race to this week's heartbreaking episode in which my favorite team, known lovingly as just "The Brothers," were booted. And they were beaten by Meredith and Gretchen, who had to leave the pit stop and go back to the roadblock to, literally, get a clue! I guess that trip to the wrong water tower at the beginning of the leg just doomed the Brothers for the rest of the day. Too bad. If Uchenna and Joyce get eliminated soon, I'll have no one else to root for. I really hope that doesn't happen.

There's controversy about Lynn's (or was it Alex's?) comment that Uchenna and Joyce were "born to" carry stuff on their heads. I don't really know where I stand on that (especially after Uchenna basically says the same thing about himself a little while later) but I do have to say I appreciated how supportive Lynn was of Alex during the Roadblock. A welcome relief from some other teams' tendency to just harp on what their partner is doing wrong during a Roadblock (RAY).

As for the POW and the Beauty Queen? She has a screw loose. Seriously.

P.S. The title of this post refers to something Phil said at the beginning of the episode when he explained where the previous pit stop had been. I SWEAR he said "hotty hotty pants."

I'm sorry to see the Brothers go too, but they sure didn't come off as the brightest of the bunch...and the POW's consort is definitely NUTS. All in all I'm happy with the teams that are left (except for the "redneck" and his "sweetheart")...and of course Africa is awesome. I believe Phil was referring to the hot pans, which are dried out lake beds common in the area of the Kalahari Desert, hence the name "pan".

I just don't understand how Phil can manage to make Makgadikgadi Pans sound like "hotty hotty pants." Gotta love him!

I too am sad to see the Bros leave, but seriously, its called, The Amazing Race, not The Amazing Casual Meander. The beauty queen is wack, I mean since when does "chill out" sound like "Go F---- Yourself"? I'm also rooting for Uchenna and Joyce (although they consistantly screw up directions). Last Night I had to refrain from slipping into a parallel universe where the Amazing Race had a spin-off called Rob, Amber, and some other people Race Around the World.

I don't think the brothers were that slow during other parts of the race. I think on this leg they screwed so bad up in the begining (and apparently got lost again, trying to find the correct water tower) that they were never near any of the other teams, and they knew it. Hence the decision to stop and remove all their clothes on the way to the pit stop.

Which I didn't mind one bit.
