The Ballad of Rainy Bobby

I went to Malibu Grand Prix with my friends Sean and Mariah last weekend to play some mini-golf and drive some race cars.

The mini-golf was much more thrilling.

The wait to get into a car was excruciating, and then once you got in a car, you had to wait in a line of cars before you could actually go around the track. It was about as exciting as driving through the toll plaza at rush hour.

Here, see for yourself.

Yeah, that looks like fun, too.

But there's something about the tiny, fake formula one race cars at Malibu that just seems cooler. Even if the end result isn't very thrilling. I think if I went on a night that wasn't so crowded, and if I could have done more than three laps so I could get a better feel for the way the cars handle, it would have been rad. Especially if all they did was blast "Slow Ride" over loudspeakers the entire time.
