Hello again, boils and ghouls and welcome to the 15th year of Musty TV's Maniacal Movie Countdown!
Good grief. Fifteen years! I can hardly believe I've been taking part in this Countdown to Halloween for that long. Time sure flies when you're getting spooked!
Starting tomorrow, I'll be sticking to the format I've been following for the past two years: watching 31 new-to-me horror movies and posting about them daily. Some may be good! Some may be bad! But they'll all be Halloween worthy.
This has been a challenging year for me (for that whole story, scroll down a few posts), and for most of it, I just wasn't in the right mindset to watch horror movies of any kind. I knew I'd eventually be able to enjoy them again, and indeed I was right, and just in time for spooky season.
The movies I'll be posting about this year will include a lot of newer films, some as recent as this year, along with several older films that somehow managed to pass me by.
I've been watching horror movies since I was a pre-teen, and it still amazes me every year how many horror movies I actually haven't seen. Of course, not all of them turn out to be overlooked gems, but I usually find they've got something to offer, even if it's just a laugh or two.
Thanks again for joining me, and be sure to check out some of the other blogs that are partaking in the Countdown! You can find a full list in the right sidebar here.
With that I will leave you with a classic moment from a movie I first saw when it was released FORTY years ago. Now that's scary.
